Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead dispatchers and drivers within our distribution center operations. You will ensure safety, schedule coverage, and compliance while driving efficiency and cost controls.

The role requires 3+ years of trucking supervision, familiarity with OSHA/DOT regulations, and experience with TMS solutions such as Prospero, One Network, CAMS, and XATA. Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; bachelor’s or 5 years supervisory experience in trucking as equivalent preferred
• 3+ years progressive trucking experience in grocery retail preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA & DOT safety regulations, sanitation, and food safety – Management Level
• Strong technical skills with TMS fleet routing software (Prospero, One Network & CAMS) and onboard systems (XATA)
• Experience using warehouse management systems to interact with TMS
• Excellent math skills
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new programs and procedures
• Ability to make decisions quickly and cost effectively
• Strong resolution skills and decisive action
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal/communication skills
• Proven leadership with 3+ years managing 30+ reports
• Able to chart, forecast, plan, manage and measure day-to-day operations
• Interact effectively with multiple levels within the distribution center and company
• Exhibits initiative and energy for innovation, strong customer service
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to dispatchers and drivers to meet goals
• Lead, coach, and supervise transportation personnel to achieve results
• Schedule coverage including weekends, holidays, and nights
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Train and develop dispatchers and drivers; mentor high-potential staff
• Coordinate interactions between distribution center and retail teams
• Maintain positive associate relations and customer service standards
• Assess equipment and manpower needs for daily operations
• Maintain assets in design-compliant, cost-effective condition
• Support cost-reduction initiatives across transportation operations
• Supervise driver activities and maintain safe driving practices
• Collaborate with drivers to develop training workshops
• Ensure accuracy of transportation operations documentation

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• High school graduate; bachelor's or 5 years supervisory experience in trucking as equivalent preferred
• 3 plus years' experience of progressive trucking experience / grocery retail preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA & DOT safety regulations, sanitation, and food safety - Management Level
• Strong technical skills and experience with TMS fleet routing optimization software (Prospero, One Network & CAMS preferred) as well as fleet on-board computer systems (XATA preferred).
• Experience using warehouse management system to interact with TMS
• Excellent math skills
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new programs and procedures
• Ability to make decisions quickly and cost effectively
• Possess strong resolution skills and have the ability to take decisive action
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal/communication skills
• Proven leadership ability to encompass a minimum 3 plus years' experience managing 30 plus reports
• Able to chart, forecast, plan, manage, and measure day-to-day operations
• Able to effectively interact with multiple levels within the distribution center and within the company
• Exhibits initiative and a high energy for innovation, exemplary customer service skills, and resourcefulness
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite to include high level of Excel proficient
