Role Overview:

The Transportation Supervisor will lead an hourly team and influence the entire distribution team to complete the work required to run the distribution center efficiently, safely, and productively. The supervisor manages team members, ensuring prompt, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise, and develops team goals. Responsibilities include hiring, evaluation, development, discipline, and termination of hourly associates, with management responsibility for 20-30 associates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing Process: Executes transportation functions according to budget, standards, and performance metrics. Manages fleet, plans routes, partners with outbound operations, and oversees yard management and customer service.
2. Coaching / Developing Associates: Guides and trains associates, monitors productivity, and conducts evaluations. Handles hiring, discipline, and resolves operational issues.
3. Drive Results: Ensures on-time service, manages metrics, and analyzes performance to implement improvements.
4. Business Planning: Coordinates transportation plans, monitors KPIs, and manages budgets and delivery schedules.

Additional Details:

• Reports to the Operations Manager.
• Overnight travel less than 10%.
• Physical requirements include walking, standing, lifting, etc.
• Work environment involves typical conditions with exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and fumes.

Qualifications:

Minimum: 18+ years old, legally permitted to work in the U.S., high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related work experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related, experience with WMS/TMS, 3+ years supervisory experience, fleet management experience, flexibility for shifts, ability to relocate.
