Job summary

Stantec in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Bridges and Structures Team. You will evaluate, select, and engineer systems for bridges and transportation structures, including plans, cost estimates, and client meetings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred), and a PE license in Minnesota is preferred with 5+ years of experience. Office-based with some field work; salary range provided below.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota preferred.
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Minnesota preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects.
• Responsible for the review and sealing of own projects or the work of others.
• Manages the design and construction of projects, and provides structural engineering input.
• Manages and leads other team members while working on projects.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control on structural design elements and projects.
• Prepares construction contract documents, project proposals, change orders, plans and reports.
• Performs calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Attends client/contractor/stakeholder meetings to gain a better understanding of client’s goals.
• Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
