Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for van operation and escorting passengers during transport to and from pick-up to delivery site.
2. Follow established schedules and make adjustments to meet unanticipated changes; determine the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes considering the needs of participants and the requirements of the clinic and therapies; maintain a narrative of the route.
3. Safely perform one-person transfers of passengers to and from vehicles and inside vehicles.
4. Ensure all passengers wear safety belts and wheelchairs are locked into position.
5. Promptly report any patient or guest-related concerns observed in the home or van.
6. Document incidents, accidents, and other relevant information according to program policy.
7. Inspect vehicles regularly and maintain them in a clean and safe condition.
8. Maintain daily documentation of passenger logs, mileage, service records, etc.
9. Provide support to additional departments as needed, including transporting documents to post office, bank, etc.

Work Environment and Requirements

Work is typically performed in a transportation vehicle or office. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, sit and drive for extended periods. Accountable for fulfilling all job-specific obligations and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
