Job Summary

Leads daily activities, driver schedules, workload balancing, route management, adherence to delivery schedules, fleet preventative maintenance, and vehicle rentals during downtime. Supports the development of efficient transportation practices to enhance patient care and satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Leads and evaluates transportation systems, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, including Joint Commission, DOH, Board of Pharmacy, DOT, FDA, and OSHA.
• Conducts new employee orientation and training; develops and reviews departmental policies.
• Creates and revises schedules to maximize efficiency.
• Inspects fleet vehicles weekly for cleanliness, safety, and security; oversees maintenance standards.
• Maintains compliance with DOT safety regulations, manages driver records, schedules physicals and renewals.
• Investigates vehicle accidents and submits reports.
• Participates in employee relations and recognition activities; fosters a positive work environment.
• Assists in developing disaster and contingency plans.

Work is performed mainly in vehicles. Requires multitasking, lifting at least 70 pounds, and extended sitting/driving. Must comply with organizational policies and procedures. The description covers typical job elements necessary for performance.
