Job summary

VHB seeks a Transportation Safety Planner or Engineer to join the Metro DC team in a hybrid Washington, DC office. You'll plan, design, and analyze transportation facilities to improve mobility and safety across modes.

Report to the DC office and collaborate with a tight-knit team dedicated to high-quality, data-driven solutions. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and developing proposals, with opportunities to influence projects from scoping through implementation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional transportation engineering and/or planning experience.
• BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Planning, or related field.
• PE or AICP expected.
• Experience with MicroStation/AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop transportation engineering, safety, and planning solutions for multimodal projects.
• Lead data analysis and prepare technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Mentor junior staff and lead client and stakeholder meetings.
• Prepare written documents and summarize data for technical reports.
