Job summary

Safework Inc is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to oversee contractor safety programs on heavy civil construction projects. You will audit field activities, report on safety performance, and collaborate with the Safety Team to deliver training and improvements across projects.

Required are five years in heavy/civil construction management, CHST or equivalent certification, OSHA 30, and strong communication and IT skills. Travel to job sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years in a full-time Heavy/Civil construction management role.
• CHST or equivalent certification; ASP/CSP or safety degree desired (or able to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience on large transportation projects including design-build programs.
• Experience on Rail (Heavy/Light), Bridges, Roads, Utility Relocation, and similar construction.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification.
• OSHA 500 Trainer Certification preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including use of Information Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety program oversight within the Safety Team.
• Audit contractor safety programs and field activities.
• Generate reports on contractor safety performance as directed.
• Report on project safety activities and performance.
• Attend regular safety meetings.
• Assist Safety Team with training as needed.
• Respond to accidents/incidents on the project as directed.

Essential Job Duties:
