Zusammenfassung

Zūm is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety operations at its Howard County, MD location. This role spans program development, training implementation, incident management, and regulatory compliance to ensure a culture of zero incidents and safe transport for students and communities.

You will supervise safety staff, manage driver training programs including onboarding and ongoing education, analyze incident data, and ensure FMCSA, OSHA, and DOT standards are met.

Qualifikationen

• Experience leading safety programs in transportation, preferably school bus or passenger transport.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, state pupil transportation laws, OSHA/DOT standards.
• Supervisory experience in training drivers and staff.

Aufgaben

• Champion behavioral safety principles and design comprehensive training for transportation personnel.
• Oversee driver training, road evaluations, in-service training, and related safety programs.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, recognition programs, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor safety KPIs (accident frequency/severity, training compliance, observations).
• Maintain compliance with FMCSA, state laws, OSHA/DOT requirements and audit readiness.
• Lead incident investigations with root-cause analysis and prepare reports.
