Kiewit is seeking a Sr Safety Specialist for an Inglewood, CA project to lead the safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA standards. The role focuses on developing training, tracking safety metrics, and coaching teams to minimize hazards on site.

The position requires 2+ years of construction safety experience, CHST and OSHA/Cal-OSHA certifications, and strong proficiency with Word and Excel. Competitive base compensation is offered with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of safety program experience on construction projects or water facilities.
• Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and hazard recognition.
• Cal/OSHA Underground Safety Representative certification.
• CHST certification required.
• CPR/First Aid, EMT certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are required.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Managing the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
• Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident data at the project level; recommending safety features.
• Routinely inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees.
• Developing training materials and a paperwork management system for training records.
• Interpreting safety regulations for the project and coordinating client-required safety training.
• Interfacing with OSHA inspectors in the event of a site visit.
