Job summary

Hogan Transportation is seeking an experienced Operations Safety Manager to evaluate and validate safety protocols across delivery operations. The role will organize safety training for employees, report issues to management, and mentor drivers.

Some travel and overnight stays are required. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in trucking, strong organizational and communication skills, and a solid understanding of safety regulations within the transportation industry.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of transportation industry experience, specifically trucking.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Track all safety data and send regular updates to management (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
• Prepare, communicate and conduct regular safety training sessions (monthly, quarterly).
• Handle mentoring, coaching, retraining following all safety sensitive issues.
• Visit driver delivery sites to conduct safety audits on drivers, equipment and store facilities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.
• Lead ongoing Smith System training along with yearly recertification process.
• Review accident file contents for accuracy, needed retraining and documentation.
• Take accident, first aid and workers' compensation reports.
• Input all above reports into Hogan Safety software program.
• Other duties as required.
