Job summary

Darwin Recruitment seeks a Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager to lead the safety function for U.S. operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture. You will develop programs, train staff, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement across multiple sites.

The role requires coordinating with leadership, regulators, and field teams to implement safety standards, manage audits, and advance incident prevention initiatives. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible safety experience in industrial/transport/logistics.
• At least three years of leadership experience supervising safety teams.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, industrial hygiene, DOT/GHS hazardous materials regulations, and ergonomics.
• Experience developing, implementing, and managing safety programs across multiple locations.
• Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, audit processes, and audit readiness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety across U.S. operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regs.
• Develop and improve safety programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Ensure consistent safety standards across all locations.
• Provide leadership to Safety Supervisors and teams.
• Oversee multi-site safety operations and site visits to identify risks.
• Lead safety audits, inspections, and on-site evaluations with timely closure of deficiencies.
• Analyze safety data and trends to drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response and incident investigations; maintain documentation.
