Job summary

Gray Line Tennessee is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the company’s safety program, assist with driver training, regulatory compliance, and accident documentation. This role works with the Sr. Director of Safety & Quality Assurance to promote a positive safety culture.

This position offers growth in transportation safety and requires coordination of training, documentation, and safety reporting across driver operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred: Associate degree or coursework in business, transportation, or a related field.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, customer service, or safety administration.
• Familiarity with DOT or FMCSA regulations is helpful but not required.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and database systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with driver orientation and onboarding.
• Schedule and track required safety training.
• Coordinate ride-alongs and driver evaluations.
• Monitor driver safety events through telematics and cameras.
• Assist with accident reporting and documentation.
• Maintain driver files, including medical certificates and road test records.
• Prepare monthly safety reports and attendance records.
• Maintain safety records and confidential employee information.
• Support DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Respond to general driver safety questions.
