Job summary

HDR invites applications for a Summer 2027 Transportation Roadway Intern in our Transportation Business Group. You will participate in real-world projects and connect with leaders through mentoring programs while applying standard engineering techniques under supervision.

The role seeks students pursuing Civil Engineering with strong attention to detail and solid communication skills, in a collaborative, employee-owned culture that HDR champions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Civil Engineering Degree during Summer 2027.

Join HDR for a Summer 2027 internship in our Transportation Business Group focusing on Transportation Roadway.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Roadway Intern, we’ll count on you to:

• Participate in real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Civil Engineering Degree during Summer 2027.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0 GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
