Job summary

HDR invites talents to join our Transportation Business Group for a Summer 2027 internship in Tyler, Texas. As an intern, you will engage in real-world projects and learn from seasoned engineers while contributing to transportation solutions that impact communities.

We seek students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, with strong problem-solving and communication skills and basic Office proficiency. This internship is full-time and temporary.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in real-world projects within HDR’s Transportation group.
  • Connect with peers and mentors through internal programs.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Perform assignments under supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Join HDR during Summer 2027 for an internship in our Transportation Business Group focusing on Transportation.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Intern, we’ll count on you to:

  • Participate in real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Civil Engineering Degree during Summer 2027
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
