Job summary

HDR invites rising civil engineers to join our Transportation Business Group as a Summer 2027 Transportation Roadway Intern. You’ll gain real-world experience on roadway projects and work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.

Preferred candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with GPA around 3.0, and are active participants in HDR’s employee-owned culture. This internship offers exposure to design, analysis, and collaboration within a diverse team.

Qualifications

Join HDR for a Summer 2027 internship in our Transportation Business Group focusing on Transportation Roadway.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Roadway Intern, we’ll count on you to:

• Participate in real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Civil Engineering Degree during Summer 2027.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0 GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

Required Qualifications

• Basic Microsoft Office skills
