Job Overview

We are seeking a new Transportation Resident Engineer to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. The successful candidate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary infrastructure solutions team, managing transit, roadway and related projects in the Chicagoland area.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily roadway rehabilitation construction activities and ensure compliance with the project’s specifications, timeline and budget.
• Serve as the project’s point of contact and coordinate with owner, contractors and other stakeholders to progress the project and resolve issues.
• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
• Manage a team of field inspectors to assign daily tasks and oversee documentation processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• Professional Engineer in Illinois.
• 5‑10 years of overall transportation/construction management experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading teams and roadway construction projects as a licensed Resident Engineer.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong team‑player mindset with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree(s).
• CM certification.
• PMP certification.
• Experience managing projects for the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Salary Range: $110,032 - $139,984. Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
