Job summary

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. Career Center currently seeks a Civil Engineer with PE to manage large land development projects within traffic engineering and planning in Pennsylvania. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on traffic studies, design tasks, and permit processes.

The role requires a PE, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines while complying with the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code.
• Experience with testimony on behalf of land development applicants as it relates to Pennsylvania municipal approvals.

Responsibilities

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic impact studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Overseeing the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Serve as a representative at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.
