Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support our Gulf Region in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires a ABET‑accredited civil engineering degree and 5+ years in transportation engineering, with Alabama PE license.

You will manage projects, coordinate with clients, oversee designs, and lead junior staff. Responsibilities include budgets, schedules, reports, and QA/QC, while collaborating with subconsultants and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with project responsibilities.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for Volkert clients in Alabama.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and direct designers to deliver.
• Provide technical design guidance on roadway design, traffic operations, signals, and planning.
• Prepare studies, documents, and reports for projects.
• Issue and track contracts and change orders; manage project budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Attend meetings and engage with clients and the public.
• Market to new and existing clients and participate in business development.
• Assist in developing junior staff and ensure QA/QC per standards.
