Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer - Transportation to join our team in Nashville. You’ll act as project manager and client contact, guiding design and delivery on transportation projects while coordinating with stakeholders.

You will manage schedules, contribute to proposals, and oversee engineering reports and plans. This role requires PE licensure, a civil/transportation background, and collaboration across engineers, technicians, and clients. A hybrid work program is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineer program.
• 5+ years of transportation or traffic engineering experience.
• Experience with TDOT, county, or local agency projects/clients is preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Ability to manage and collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators.
• Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
• Working experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager and/or project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact.
• Manage project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Assist in coordinating estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
• Assist in preparation of engineering agreements for projects.
• Provide street and highway design engineering analysis and computations; be Engineer of Record on some projects.
• Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.
• May delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineers’ activities.
• Support business development, attend client and organizational meetings, and present in support of projects.
• Visit construction sites to monitor progress per contract documents.
