Job summary

VS Engineering is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead civil engineering projects focused on transportation infrastructure. You will collaborate with contractors, officials, and vendors, manage scope, budget, staffing, and deliverables, and mentor project teams while maintaining strong client relationships.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with in-person meetings, site visits, and team collaboration in Kentucky. Required: PE license KY; IN and OH preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • PE license in KY required; IN and OH preferred.
  • 5+ years in transportation infrastructure design with KYTC project experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders – work with contractors, officials, and suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Manage all aspects of transportation projects, including scope, budgeting, staffing, and production.
  • Lead and mentor project teams while developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Guide clients in securing funding and navigating agency policies for transportation projects.
  • Prepare and oversee project proposals, contract negotiations, and client communications.
  • Identify future opportunities and develop strategies to pursue those opportunities.
  • Design and develop transportation solutions using cutting-edge design standards.
  • Conduct research and produce reports, feasibility studies, and technical documentation.

Your Role as a Transportation Project Manager

As a key leader on our team, managing and designing civil engineering projects focused on transportation infrastructure, you will:

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering(ABET-accredited).
  • Licensing: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in KY (required), IN, and OH (preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in transportation infrastructure design with 3+ years managing KYTC projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
