Job summary

The Foth Companies is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead design projects for WisDOT from our Wisconsin locations (Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay). The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, ownership of delivery, and a track record of managing transportation projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities include client relationship management with WisDOT, team mentoring, contract development, and ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering and/or project management roles on WisDOT projects.
• Preferred: minimum of 15 years of experience in designing and/or managing transportation projects.
• Preferred: 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation engineering design activities for roadway, structure, and intersection projects.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with WisDOT and coordinate communication throughout project development.
• Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality projects.
• Deliver projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments.
• Collaborate with permitting agencies as required.
• Participate in project pursuits, proposals, and contract development.
• Develop and negotiate WisDOT contracts including work breakdown structures.

Foth is experiencing significant growth within our Wisconsin transportation team. We are seeking a dedicated, innovative, and results-driven Transportation Project Manager to lead design projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). We also welcome experienced transportation design engineers aspiring to transition into project management roles. The ideal candidate will work out of one of our WI office locations: Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead technical transportation engineering project activities, focusing on roadway, structure, and intersection design.

• Maintain and enhance relationships with WisDOT, ensuring effective communication throughout the project development process.

• Lead, mentor, and foster teamwork among multidisciplinary team members.

• Deliver high-quality projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments.

• Collaborate closely with relevant permitting agencies.

• Actively participate in project pursuit decisions and proposal development.

• Develop and negotiate WisDOT contracts, including special provisions and work breakdown structures.

• Provide proactive performance feedback to project team members to support their skill and career development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering and/or project management roles on WisDOT projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in designing and/or managing transportation projects.

• 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
