Job summary

Foth is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Des Moines, IA. You'll work on transportation design projects, gaining hands-on experience under seasoned professionals in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment.

Based out of Des Moines, the internship offers exposure to real infrastructure projects, software tools like MicroStation ORD and AutoCAD Civil3D, and opportunities to contribute to innovative design solutions that impact communities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Preferred: previous Civil Engineering internship or co-op experience.
• Experience with MicroStation ORD or AutoCAD Civil3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of roadway and transportation design plans using design software.
• Support development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate

• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects
• Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Civil Engineering experience through an internship or co-op
• MicroStation Open Roads Designer (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil3D experience
