Job summary

Foth in Des Moines, IA is offering a Summer 2027 Civil Engineering Internship on our Transportation Design team. You will gain hands-on experience with roadway design, mentorship, and exposure to real infrastructure projects.

We're seeking a student pursuing a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited). Preferred ORD or AutoCAD Civil3D experience; strong collaboration and communication skills are a plus. This internship sits in our Des Moines office and offers practical design work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Preferred Civil Engineering internship or co-op experience.
• Experience with MicroStation ORD or AutoCAD Civil3D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of roadway and transportation design plans using design software.
• Support the development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate.

• Support the development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects
• Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Civil Engineering experience through an internship or co-op
• MicroStation Open Roads Designer (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil3D experience
