Job description

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join our team at one of our three Massachusetts offices in Boston, Lawrence, or Worcester!

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients (MassDOT, City of Boston, and Municipal Agencies)
  2. Supervise the project team (including subconsultants), coordinating their efforts, mediating any disagreements, mentoring staff, and making decisions which reflect the best interest of both the company and its clients
  3. Perform technical quality control reviews
  4. Prepare and oversee the preparation of milestone and final submissions
  5. Manage transportation studies, design of roadways, streets, intersections, and ancillary facilities
  6. Oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reports
  7. Develop new business by attending networking, client, and municipal events
Requirements
  1. BS in Civil Engineering
  2. Massachusetts Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain one within one year if currently licensed in another state
  3. 10+ years’ experience in Transportation/Highway engineering
  4. Knowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client management
  5. Experience in performing and overseeing analysis and design, preparing calculations, developing details, preparing specifications and estimates as well as directing the preparation of bid documents
  6. Advanced understanding of project metrics, including scope, budget, multiplier, additional service needs, and programs used to track metrics
  7. Experience with construction administration services including interpreting design intent, evaluating construction for compliance with contract documents, and directing of engineering support personnel
  8. Experience in preparing proposals, business development, and the ability to make public presentations
  9. Advanced knowledge of engineering programs including, but not limited to, AutoCAD Civil 3D
