Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department of Transportation seeks a Supervising Manager to oversee engineer technicians and other personnel on roadway and bridge construction projects in inspection, material sampling, and testing. You will supervise placement of asphalt and other surface materials, conduct sediment and erosion inspections, and ensure compliance with state/federal guidelines.

A bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience are required, plus a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license required.
• Ability to travel occasionally and work outside normal hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervises engineer technicians and project managers on roadway and bridge construction projects.
• Inspects asphalt, concrete, embankment, storm drain, and other roadway items.
• Maintains project records, prepares reports, and final contractor quantity concurrence for project closure.
• Coordinates utilities and assists with office duties as necessary.
