Job summary

Traffic Planning & Design, Inc. (TPD) is actively seeking dynamic Engineers at all levels with project management experience in PennDOT permits and municipal land development.

Our team handles traffic engineering and planning across large land development projects and interfaces with municipal and PennDOT stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree and PE licensure, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code.
• Experience with testimony on behalf of land development applicants as it relates to Pennsylvania municipal approvals.

Responsibilities

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic impact studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Overseeing the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Serve as a representative at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.
