Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Civil Engineer to manage and assist on a range of infrastructure projects, from roadway resurfacing to bridge improvements. You will review plans, monitor QA/QC, and coordinate inspectors while liaising with the public and officials.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and at least one year of experience in engineering or construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction science and Management is required.
• 1 year of engineering or construction management work experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include standing/sitting for long periods, travel may be required, and ability to work in adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects of minor to advanced complexity and assists Project Engineers on major projects with project management duties. Represents the Department in meetings with the public and officials while ensuring compliance with approved plans.
