Job summary

BKF is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Government Solutions team serving public agency clients in the Bay Area, based in the Richmond area. You will contribute to transportation and CIP projects from planning through construction support, collaborating with project managers, agency staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in transportation engineering, a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

3+ years in transportation engineering focusing on roadway design.
B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with SignCAD, AGI 32, Synchro/SimTraffic desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design and coordination of transportation infrastructure projects (roadways, corridors, roundabouts, etc.).
Preparation of geometric design plans and profiles per standards.
Development of grading, drainage, and stormwater management plans.
Design of transportation-related utilities; coordination with public agencies.
Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates; integrate multimodal and sustainable design.
Apply Federal, State, and local codes; prepare conceptual studies and analyses.
