Job summary

BKF Engineers in Richmond, CA, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Government Solutions team. You will support transportation and CIP projects, collaborating with project managers, agency staff, and multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and strong communication skills, with an ability to work independently and travel between BKF offices and client sites.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• EIT certification is highly preferred.
• Experience coordinating with public agencies and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate transportation infrastructure projects including roadways and multimodal facilities.
• Prepare geometric design plans and profiles to standards like Caltrans.
• Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater plans for transportation corridors.
• Coordinate with agencies, utilities, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and best-practice design elements.
