Job summary

GHD in the US West region seeks a Senior Project Manager – Highways Roads to lead planning, design, and delivery of major transportation projects across California and the US West. You will drive business development, manage client relationships, and lead multi-office teams in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires 12+ years in transportation project management, CA PE registration, and experience with Caltrans and major programs. Strong leadership and communications are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California Required.
• 12+ years of transportation project management experience.
• Experience managing Caltrans, local agencies, and federally funded programs.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build, CMGC) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning, design, and execution of transportation projects including highways, interchanges, roads, trails and bridges with delivery excellence.
• Lead business development, create proposals, and pursue public and private sector opportunities to grow the pipeline.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff to foster collaboration and growth.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, earned value, risk management, and ensure profitability and quality control.
