Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum experience: 5 years in technical engineering related work (design, traffic, construction, materials testing, surveys, maintenance, or planning).
• Selective qualification: 2.5 years in construction/inspection of transportation projects.
• Preferred: ability to prepare clear reports; knowledge of construction practices and management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineer on medium-size or moderately complex road/bridge projects.
• Act as permit inspector for utility, district office, residential/commercial access, lane closures, and sidewalk retrofits.
• Direct and monitor documentation of construction processes and progress estimates.
• Instruct and mentor lower-level technicians in plan reading, inspection methods, and testing of materials.
