Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer in the Southeast to lead roadway, intersection and corridor design projects. You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver plans, analyses and construction documents that meet scope, schedule and quality goals.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license, with 5+ years in transportation engineering and hands-on experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and InRoads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering and roadway design experience.
• Experience with roadway design standards and construction plan development.
• Ability to write technical specifications and bid documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state transportation agencies, including FDOT, GDOT, and other jurisdictions.
• Develop technical specifications and bid documents for transportation projects.
• Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and related design software to develop and refine transportation designs.
