Job summary
LJA Transportation seeks a Project Engineer to provide technical and engineering support, including proposals and cost estimates. You will lead traffic and transportation projects, manage staff, and ensure performance within scope, schedule, and budget.
Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of FDOT-related experience and proficient use of MicroStation, Geopak/OpenRoads, and SYNCHRO. Licensed PE and strong communication are essential.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required or current licensure in process with immediate reciprocity.
- Experience performing traffic studies, signal warrant analyses and traffic management plans.
- Proficient with FDOT procedures and software including MicroStation, Geopak/OpenRoads.
Responsibilities
- Perform traffic and transportation systems analysis, planning and design.
- Determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Ensure performance meets scope, schedule and budget.
- Manage and design traffic signal projects, signing, striping, illumination, ITS, and traffic control plans for FDOT, counties, and municipalities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the group including business development and project management.
