Job summary

The Wood County Human Services Department seeks a Transportation Coordinator to manage daily bus routes, driver coverage, and community transportation programs. You will respond to public inquiries, assess eligibility, and ensure smooth operation of services with accuracy and courtesy.

The role requires an associate degree and 4 years in transportation or customer service, plus travel to off-campus sites. Strong communication and record-keeping are essential in a busy county environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with four years' experience in transportation or customer service.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills and word processing; able to travel to off-campus sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily bus routes for bus drivers and schedule driver vacation coverage.
• Serve as liaison between drivers and drop-off locations; handle public inquiries and determine eligibility for transportation services.
• Maintain records on ridership, repairs, maintenance, and daily receipts; complete monthly and annual reports for transportation grants.
• Coordinate volunteer driver program and provide backup coverage for reception.
