AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern in Orlando, FL to support traffic operations studies, data collection, field reviews, and corridor planning tasks.

The role involves assisting with signal timing, traffic impact analyses, and safety-oriented studies, while gaining hands-on experience with HCM, Synchro, HCS+, and VISSIM under mentor guidance.

Qualifications

• Interest in traffic operations, safety, or planning.
• Completion of 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree from ABET accredited program by start of internship.

Responsibilities

### **Job Description**## OverviewAtkinsRéalis is seeking a **Transportation Planning Intern** to join our **Orlando, FL** office.## Your Role* Perform analytical and investigative tasks including traffic and crash data collection and data management;* Perform field review of project study areas, such as pedestrian and bicycle demand/use studies, signal operations reviews, and traffic circulation studies* Assist with the technical tasks involved in urban and corridor planning studies and the documentation associated with governmental acceptance;* Assist with signal retiming, traffic impact studies, corridor planning studies, and highway safety studies, and* Perform traffic operations/engineering and capacity analysis on roadway networks for intersections, corridors, and regional networks* Assist with design alternatives for improving safety and operations of intersections, corridors, and networks.## About You* EXPERIENCE: Junior/Senior or Post-Graduate Students* EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).* SPECIAL SKILLS: Interests in Traffic Operations, Safety, or Planning.
