Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a summer intern to join our transportation planning teams in Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA. You will work on multimodal planning projects under guidance from experienced professionals.

Ideal candidates are graduate or upper-level undergraduates in Urban/Regional Planning or related fields with strong computer skills and excellent communication abilities. The internship lasts about three months with a pay rate of $23.00 per hour and an emphasis on hands-on project

Qualifications

• Proficiency with basic computer tools and software relevant to planning work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Interest in transportation planning demonstrated through coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical analyses and prepare written documentation as part of project teams.
• Develop multi-modal transportation plans for cities and counties, corridor studies, transit and bike/ped plans, and environmental assessments.
• Conduct research on transportation planning topics to support projects.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings and present findings in a supporting role.
• Support public engagement efforts for planning projects.

FHU is currently looking for a summer intern to join us in our Omaha, Nebraska or Des Moines, Iowa office working on transportation planning projects by assisting with the following:

• technical analyses and written documentation as a part of teams working on projects

• multi-modal transportation plans for cities and counties, corridor studies, transit development plans, bicycle and pedestrian plans, and environmental assessments

• conducting research into various transportation planning topics

• client and stakeholder meetings and presentations in a supporting role

• public engagement support for planning projects

• Graduate or upper-level undergraduate student in Urban/Regional Planning or related field

• Strong computer skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Available for 3-month timeframe

Preferred Skills

• Previous coursework and demonstrated interest in transportation planning

Starting pay: $23.00 per hour
