Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Biology, Planning, Urban Design, or related field with at least two years of study.
- Recent graduates may apply if they plan to continue with an advanced degree.
- Interest in pursuing an advanced degree after completing the internship.
Responsibilities
- Planning and project development activities for transportation projects under supervision of more senior staff.
- Supporting planning studies and reports for new and updated plans and programs.
- Collecting statistical data and prepares reports and maps on census, land use, roadway network, crash records, and asset inventories.
- Utilizing GIS to analyze data and prepare detailed maps for reports.
- Conducting concept level evaluation of transportation improvement options.
- Documenting and presenting findings on transportation planning projects.
- Researching current transportation topics at local, State, and Federal levels and documenting findings.
- Assisting with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.
