Spherion Mid Ohio, in partnership with The JM Smucker Company, seeks a Transportation Coordinator for the Orrville, OH area. The role covers shipment tracking, carrier coordination, and cost/service optimization within the Smucker network.

The position is a 6-month contract with potential extension, offering a hybrid schedule and exposure to a Fortune 500 environment. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and transportation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience in a 3PL or client transportation organization.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to learn and navigate multiple computer systems and platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Track shipments using systems and coordinate with carriers.
• Assess exceptions to on-time pickup and delivery.
• Contact carriers for location and ETA updates.
• Create action plans to resolve routine and complex issues.
• Collaborate with shippers, carriers, and internal teams to execute plans.
• Communicate resolutions to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Provide carrier performance feedback to stakeholders.
• Ensure coverage of all shipments from assigned sites.
• Align transport operations with site requirements and planned schedules.
• Identify performance issues and develop corrective action plans.
