Job summary

Paper Transport, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Planner to join our Operations team in Wisconsin. You will be a motivated self-starter responsible for planning drivers and freight while meeting customer expectations and maintaining profitability.

We value a team-centric environment with a focus on safety and growth. The role requires strong communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to adapt to changing plans while upholding DOT/HOS regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of transportation experience preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team atmosphere
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and navigating multiple computer systems
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus

  • Exceed customer on-time service requirements
  • Maintain high asset utilization to ensure profitability
  • Use negotiation skills to supplement customer freight with brokered loads
  • Focus on profitability goals including deadhead, rate per mile, and revenue per truck
  • Manage freight within HOS and DOT regulations
  • Provide drivers with good work/life balance while maintaining productivity
  • Create best practices for a high-performing team
  • Build and maintain strong connections with customers

You will be empowered to make decisions that directly impact the success of the fleet. You will successfully plan drivers and freight while meeting customer expectations. You will quickly adapt to plan changes and ensure profitability.

What skills do you need to bring as a Planner?

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • Associate’s Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Transportation or Business related fields preferred
