The Agency of Transportation is seeking seasonal Transportation Operations Technicians in Colchester. These positions will be responsible for various tasks related to bridge and highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching bridges and roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. It is anticipated that these positions will work 40 hours per week for approximately seven months.
This position, Transportation Operations Technician II - Temporary, is open to all State employees and external applicants. Duties require exposure to outdoor weather, potential overtime during emergencies, and working near heavy equipment and traffic. Participation in a drug and alcohol-testing program is required. Considerable overtime, especially in winter, is expected.
