Work involves outdoor conditions, sometimes extreme weather. Employees may need to work outside their schedule and be reachable by phone. Risks include working near heavy equipment, hazardous materials, roadside litter, and traffic, especially during emergencies like floods, snow, or hazardous spills. Use of tools and equipment is required, along with lifting materials. Participation in a random drug and alcohol test is mandatory. Overtime, especially in winter, is a condition of employment.
No education or experience required. Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license required. Must live near the assigned workstation. CDL required for completing probation. Must complete VTTC coursework within six months or be enrolled.
