Expeditors in Ellenwood, GA is seeking a highly motivated transportation professional to support day-to-day operations in our Transportation Department onsite with a valued customer. The role emphasizes project management, customer service, and cross-functional coordination to drive on-time performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include coordinating projects, tracking shipments, communicating with vendors and customers, preparing presentations, and leading meetings.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics Operations or related.
• 2+ years of transportation and logistics experience.
• 1+ years warehousing experience.
• Demonstrated project leadership experience.
• Experience with air, road, ocean, and dedicated/white glove movements.
• Experience leading meetings with customers, vendors and key stakeholders.

• Create project plans to drive continuous process improvement.
• Work with vendor account managers and project managers to ensure proper project execution.
• Ensure SOPs and SWIs are documented and updated to reflect needs.
• Coordinate with warehouses, carriers and service providers.

• Analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Proactively drive cost saving, consolidation, and on-time performance initiatives.

Job description

Responsible for the execution of day to day transportation operations and project management activities within a Global Transportation Team. Tasks and duties will vary based on changing priorities and missions. Duties include project management and execution, shipment track and trace, vendor relations, customer service, carrier performance reporting, metric management, reporting and information dissemination, and leading task/project oriented meetings.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute projects.
• Create project plans to drive continuous process improvement
• Work closely with vendor account managers and project managers are executing projects appropriately.
• Ensure SOPS, SWIs, processes are documented, updated and properly communicated to reflect Google's needs clearly to carriers..
• Coordinate with multiple warehouses, carriers, and service providers to solve problems.
• Work closely with Command Center to identify carrier issues for resolution
• Drive operational predictability with partners
• Analyze performance data and identify process improvement opportunities
• Manage and negotiate ongoing delivery issues/opportunities
• Create task lists, work plans and define milestones critical to delivering successful projects
• Ability to create and provide presentations on performance levels to vendors and customer
• Proactive approach to cost saving, consolidation, and on-time performance initiatives

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements:

• Skills Required: Warehousing and transportation operations background required. Effective communication skills, Import & Export background, attention to detail, IATA Certification a plus. Strong knowledge of G Suite and/or equivalent required.
• BA/BS preferred. Preferably in Supply Chain, Transportation, and/or Logistics Operation or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of transportation and logistics experience.
• 1+ years warehousing experience
• Demonstrated project leadership experience
• 2 years continuous process improvement experience
• Experience with air, road, ocean, and dedicated/white glove movements
• Experience with people management ( hiring process, career and personal development, performance management, etc...)
• Dynamic personality; comfortable with public speaking.
• Accustomed to leading meetings with customers, vendors and key stakeholders
• Multitask and prioritize work as needed for self and team
• Ability to anticipate issues/negative outcomes and work to resolve proactively
• Strong organizational, time management, and written/oral communication skills
• Ability to adapt in dynamic environment
• Aptitude for learning new software applications and technology platforms
