Job summary

NFI Industries in Minooka, IL is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to lead freight loading/unloading, staffing, planning and cost controls. You will work with the Transportation Manager to optimize asset utilization, safety and regulatory compliance while driving performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Supply Chain or related field, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and experience with TMW and PeopleNet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a supply chain industry.
• Experience with applications such as TMW and PeopleNet.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of transportation / mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to become certified in OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations as necessary.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle changing priorities.
• Excellent talent management and team building skills.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with external clients.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at select locations.
• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to access all areas of building without limitations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of facilities and staff including supervisors, coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.
• Develops a strategic plan with the Transportation Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations and utilization of equipment and personnel.
• Oversees asset management, delivery/logistics, regulatory compliance and productivity improvement.
• Plans long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and historical data.
• Ensures staffing levels meet customer requirements and safety standards.
