Job summary

PrideStaff Financial is partnering with a Sacramento-based transportation company to hire a full-time Operations Manager. The role serves as the link between leadership, customers, dispatch, safety/compliance, and drivers, overseeing Central Valley operations from Redding to Bakersfield.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership in transportation, logistics, and safety compliance, with excellent communication and a strong customer-service focus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in operations, transportation, logistics, or fuel distribution.
• 24/7 dispatch management experience is highly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, hazardous materials transportation, and fleet operations.
• Heavy equipment permitting and routing experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams); experience with TMS, dispatch, or fleet software is a plus.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and general accounting/billing procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport of bulk/aviation fuel, heavy equipment hauling, and complex logistics.
• Optimize load planning and routing efficiency; provide real-time responses to after-hours emergencies or delays.
• Direct dispatch schedules, job duties, and customer deliveries to align staffing and minimize overtime.
• Manage and mentor dispatchers, drivers, and operational staff through coaching and reviews.
• Enforce compliance with FMCSA/DOT; maintain permits, driver qualifications, and logs.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to maximize vehicle readiness and minimize downtime.
