Job summary

Quality Custom Distribution is seeking a Transportation Manager for our Greenwood, Indiana operation. You will lead a fast-paced transportation team ensuring safe, reliable deliveries and efficient routing in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities include directing daily functions, setting goals, training staff, scheduling routes and equipment, coordinating maintenance with Penske, budgeting, and driving KPIs while ensuring DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of transportation or food distribution experience, including supervisory roles.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations, driver safety, routing software, and logistics reporting.
• Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills, able to lead through complexity.
• Effective communication with internal teams, drivers, and external partners.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs day-to-day transportation functions and staff to meet efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness standards.
• Sets department goals and monitors performance to ensure targets are met.
• Provides training, development, and evaluations; coordinates hiring with HR.
• Directs routing, manpower, and equipment schedules to meet KPIs.
• Coordinates repairs and maintenance for tractors/trailers with Penske to ensure safety and DOT compliance.
• Develops and manages budgets and operating costs; analyzes equipment specs and procurement needs.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
