Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee all transportation operations at the Plymouth distribution center. The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on supervision of multiple managers and drivers.

You will drive cost-saving KPIs, ensure 24-hour coverage, and coordinate delivery and backhaul activities while maintaining high customer service levels across the store network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
• 5+ years experience with all facets of outbound transportation incl. routing and backhaul.
• 4+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience with cost-effective solutions.
• Experience managing large numbers of driving staff; hiring, training, motivating teammates, and resolving employee relations issues.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access).

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing 24-hour coverage.
• Supervise transportation operations managers and functional processes within the department.
• Maintain a staffed and trained department offering high levels of logistics support to the warehouse.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate all delivery and backhaul activities.
• Drive key performance indicators for cost savings.
• Utilize manpower through scheduling and training to provide top customer service at the store level.
