Job summary

Bunzl Distribution is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead branch warehouse transportation activities, manage staff, and coordinate with Sales, Purchasing and Human Resources to meet service and cost objectives. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in transportation management, knowledge of OSHA/DOT, and experience with fleet systems like Omnitracs; a CDL Class A and MS Office/AS400 skills are

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience managing transportation functions in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety and DOT transportation regulations preferred.
• Experience with fleet management systems (e.g., Omnitracs) preferred.
• Hazmat certifications preferred.
• Class A CDL License required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage branch warehouse personnel within the Transportation Department.
• Analyze and implement productivity improvements to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment and train staff on safety methods.
• Plan routes and schedules; manage route adjustments to meet demand.
• Manage driver logs, fuel tax reports, and regulatory filings; ensure compliance.
• Coach staff on attendance, performance, and conduct; manage performance issues.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs of transportation equipment.
• Optimize cube fill and minimize delivery costs while boosting driver productivity.
• Direct shipping and loading procedures and supervise documentation accuracy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing and HR to align operations.
