Job summary

WP Rawl seeks a Transportation Manager to oversee routing and refrigeration-load transportation from our facilities to Mid-West distribution centers. The role focuses on load planning, DOT compliance, and maximizing fleet utilization through backhaul coordination.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Logistics/Transportation or equivalent, 3–5 years in load planning, and strong leadership with experience in driver management and TMS software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics/transportation.
• 3–5 years proven load planning and transportation management experience.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and route refrigerated loads to customer distribution centers.
• Ensure DOT compliance and safety standards.
• Review driver payroll weekly for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coach and discipline employees as needed.
• Interview and participate in driver hiring processes.
• Coordinate backhaul operations to reduce empty miles.
• Build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Continuously assess procedures to improve efficiency and service.
