U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking an Account Manager II to oversee drivers and office staff, resolving issues, payroll, home time, and policy adherence, with responsibility scaled to a high-revenue account. You will coordinate with internal teams to ensure service levels and profitability.

You will maintain fleet maintenance programs, build trust with customers, and manage weekly service reports while engaging with billing and other departments to optimize cash flow and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics with leadership experience.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and diplomatic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drivers and office staff; resolve complaints, payroll, home time, terminations.
• Ensure fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
• Develop trust with the customer and manage shipments via weekly reports.

What You’ll Do

• Manages all aspects (e.g., resolving complaints, reviews, payroll, home time, terminations) related to drivers and office employees and ensure all company policies & procedures are adhered to. Account Manager II has a greater scope of responsibility as it relates to a higher revenue account which can translate into an increased number of loads, trucks and drivers.
• Ensures all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
• Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
• Accounts for all shipments via a weekly service report.
• Actively engages with necessary USX departments (e.g. billing, etc.) to ensure smooth operation for the dedicated account.
• Reviews all credit collection and aging reports to increase cash flow.
• Ensures equipment and drivers are in place to provide on‑time service and meet the demands of the customer.
• Analyzes volume figures to forecast surges in business.
• Manages all aspects of document control as it relates to the account.
• Seek appropriate guidance from leadership on matters that could negatively impact USX financially.
• Rotational off-site on‑call duty, nights/weekends.
• Assist Regional Operations Manager while out of the office and with Account‑wide projects as needed.
• Provide support when other Account Managers are out of the office or as positions are being filled.

What We’re Looking For

Education

Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics.
• Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience required; coaching for higher performance experience preferred.
• Understanding of the distribution process required for success.

Skills/Certifications

• Proficient interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required; ability to exchange information effectively and tactfully, strong diplomacy skills to guide, influence and convince others (colleagues / customers), interactive listening in order to negotiate with others, often at a senior level.
• Advanced computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), Internet and applicable company specific applications.
