Job summary

Pero Transport, LLC is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead drivers, routes, and loads for deliveries to and from the Regional Distribution Center. You will partner with the Director of Transportation and General Manager to ensure efficient distribution, fleet maintenance, and regulatory compliance across the operation.

The role requires 5+ years in transportation, strong analytical skills, and a Bachelor’s degree, with hands-on experience in refrigerated equipment and DOT rules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems and technologies.
• Expertise in transportation equipment and mechanics including Refrigerated Trailer experience.
• Understanding of all DOT, state, and federal requirements, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the Regional Distribution Center’s General Manager and VP to book cost-effective loads and routes.
• Maintain and achieve budgets and distribution goals while analyzing performance.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to manage all parts of the supply chain.
• Interface with sales, production, and quality control to ensure customer service excellence.
• Monitor recruitment and training of new drivers and ensure safety compliance.
• Implement and maintain fleet policies and procedures for safe operation.
• Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) and regulatory rules.
• Develop plans to retain drivers and optimize distribution costs.
• Schedule and forecast customer loads to meet requests.
